The FBI as you may know has now joined the investigation into the Mtg crisis. And though it was silly of me to do so I joined a debate on a real estate board with many who are shouting "Conspiracy". Because you know everyone I worked with was in on this big money making scheme to blatantly give homeowners money knowing they couldn't repay just so we could screw Wall Street and get the rates lowered. If there was a money making scheme, why didn't I get a slice? I mean I worked for a Mortgage Lender, I must be involved. Or was my prize 6 months of unemployment with loss of benefits and no chance to gain employment elsewhere with a salary remotely comparable to what I had been making? Not much of a prize was it?

Well, there's still no job in sight. Had a nibble but it didn't pan out. With my savings about depleted I'm starting to get a bit agitated about work and insurance. But today I was able to obtain a fairly decent priced health/dental/vision package for me and Matt. It's over 1/2 of what I would have paid for Cobra and it's not the best coverage I would get, but it'll do until I get back to work. Tomorrow I have a meeting with an agent about term life insurance. Once I have secured that for me and Matt I'll feel much better. I'm going to wait it out until after the holidays and if there's no job, then I'm going to seriously look outside of Jersey. Matt wants to move to NY but we can't afford to live there. Florida is an option as is California, well parts of California anyway, but I'm looking to live somewhere that it will snow. Winter is my favorite season and I don't want to miss that, so Ohio is on the list. Though I do love to wear flip flops and walk around barefoot so am keeping Ca and FL on the list. So whoever has the best job possibilities will probably be where we relocate. Now Dancing with the Stars is on so I'll talk to you later.

Sometimes you just have one of those days that are pretty good. Today is one of mine. Though I slept a little later than I wanted, I was still showered and dressed with enough time to go to the theater. Today, I took my mother to see The Sunshine Boys starring Jack Klugman. Most of you probably don't know who he is. He was Oscar in the tv series The Odd Couple and also Quincy ME. Now for me, older than you all, I grew up watching this actor on TV. So it was awesome to see him in this production. In addition, he wrote a book called Tony and Me, which is about his friendship with Odd Couple co-star Tony Randall. Most of you know Tony as the 70+ man who married a twenty year old and had a baby right before he died. I know Tony from his movies with Rock Hudson and Doris Day along with his Felix Unger portrayal. My mother purchased the book at the theater and had it autographed after the play. It was amazing to meet a legend like Mr Klugman. Only one other time had I met someone famous. I stood in line for 3 hours one year and was graced to have Julie Andrew sign one of the children's books that she wrote. She couldn't personalize it, but signed her name. We spoke, I said, (because I was near the end of the line) "My goodness your hand must be tired." And she responded, "Not as tired as your feet." That was one of those best days ever. And I even walked away with a coffee table conversation piece. |

It's kind of funny when you look back on things you've done in your life and how, though you still do them, they've sort of changed. About 30 years ago I went to my first concert. We had lawn seats and a group of us young girls sat with our opera binoculars trying to catch a glimpse of Barry Manilow way down on the stage. Yes this was before they installed the big screens so we could get a closeup view too. Over the years I have seen everybody from from the Beach Boys, to Duran Duran, Hall & Oates, Kiss (not my choice btw), Oak Ridge Boys, Four Seasons, Reba McIntyre, NSYNC, Brooks and Dunn, many other country artists including Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney, to the Barenaked Ladies (best concerts ever IMO). Wow. That's quite an assortment. So, anyway, I've started thinking about this because tomorrow night I'm going to another concert. I'm going to see the Cheetah Girls. You might be wondering why the Cheetah Girls. I'll tell you, if it wasn't for my four nieces, Jennifer Lynn (13) Brenna Jean (12) Monica Rae (11) and Alanna Starr (8) I probably wouldn't have purchased the tickets. But they're wild about these Disney Divas and taking them covers all birthdays for the rest of the year. I was liking that idea. So this time tomorrow night I'll be standing in a crowd of screaming children singing along to "Shake Your Tailfeather", the only song they sing that I know. And of course I have to find something Cheetah-ish to wear. I want to be one of the cool older people.
